2009-08-01 - Updates from ICAD 2009

New Findings are out on ways to promote brain health from last week's International Conference on Alzheimer's Disease (ICAD). Click on each of the 5 quadrants of the brain for recent findings related to diet and nutrition, stress and depression, physical activity, and mental stimulation.

Perhaps the biggest take home from this international conference in terms of prevention was our own Utah State University study finding, features in Monday's proceedings. In this study they found that eating more vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, and nut/legumes, was associated with higher cognitive functioning over time.
